Job Description

Job Summary With a patient-centered culture, the Electrophysiology (EP) Technologist I ensures a positive patient experience by playing a key role in the care of electrophysiology patients. This role assists in the preparation of the patient, performance of the procedure, and maintenance of the laboratory . Responsibilities Procedure Scheduling and Preparation The EP Technologist I assists in scheduling and prepares the patients for arrival into the lab. They will coordinate with the H&V clinic to ensure that procedures are scheduled within a specific timeframe. This role has the knowledge of all required documents and EMR documentation that needs to be completed. Additionally, the Lead EP Technologist assists with turnaround and works effectively with the EP physicians. Equipment Operation The EP Technologist I assists with laboratory operations such as electrophysiology lab equipment (implantable device analyzers, EP recorder, ablation generators, mapping systems, & radiology equipment) to assure operability and safety. This role will maintain equipment in working order and cleanliness. Inventory Control, Supplies/Implant Documentation, Procedural Charging The EP Technologist I will be an active team member in the management of supplies/implants in the electrophysiology lab. They will monitor items to ensure appropriate charging and decrementing from the inventory system. They will work with the Lead EP Technologist and Inventory Control Coordinator to ensure that when products are not scanned or are not built in the system they will be managed appropriately. They will ensure that the supplies/implants used during the procedure are scanned into the patient's lab record to ensure proper documentation of products. Imaging and Data Documentation The EP Technologist I will ensure that during patient care they place patient information into the fluoroscopy system prior to starting an exam and that patient information is correct in the hemodynamic charting system. Following the end of an exam, they will push the images to the hemodynamic PACs system so that images are stored and not lost for prior use or review by the staff and/or physicians. They will work with the lead tech or leadership if any issues arise. Patient Care The EP Technologist I will utilize patient identifiers prior to prepping the patient for their procedure. They will prep and drape the patient with respect and privacy. They will explain the procedure and process that they are doing to make the patient feel at ease. They will position the patient for the procedure but ensure that they do not have any injuries due to positioning.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Heavy Work:
Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs with a maximum lifting of 100 lbs. Education Graduate from a school of Radiology Technology Program Credentials Amer Registry of Rad Techs (Required) Radiologic Technologist, Licen (Required)
