Job Description
Basic Qualifications Education/Training:
A high school diploma/GED; computer skills required. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing for Licensed Practical Nurses.Experience:
One to three years in public nursing and at least one year of experience in medical, surgical, geriatric or rehab care preferred.Position Summary:
Requires knowledge of nursing practices, procedures and skill as well as an understanding of the functions and responsibilities of assisted living. Must be able to demonstrate effective nursing skills in the areas of assessment and implementation of care plans, including medication profiles. Must show a high degree of initiative, judgment and cooperation with the facility team in analyzing the resident's condition, situation, and needs. Must be able to communicate effectively in speaking and writing with a diverse population and establish and maintain effective working relationships .Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Train and supervise PCA in all aspects of their job description. 2. Direct day-to-day operations of dietary department. 3. Assist the administrator with office administration. 4. Assist administrator with marketing efforts for facility. 5. Keep record of staff work schedule and reporting on time. Prepare monthly schedule. 6. Participate in call rotation as necessary. 7. Process accounts receivable.Clinical/Technical Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Ensure compliance with resident medication assistance guidelines outlined in ALF Policy and Procedures. 2. See that prescription medications are logged weekly and monthly medication logs are updated. 3. Maintain the standards of nursing care and follow the policies and procedures set forth by the State Board of Nursing and the Company. 4. Maintain accurate nursing notes and records, 5. Notifies physician, family and administrator of any changes in the resident's physical or emotional condition. Reports and records change in an appropriate and timely manner. 6. Is responsible and accountable to fully understand the medical portion of the assisted living rules and regulations, prepared by the Alabama State Board of Health. As well as the policy and procedures as set forth in the Liveoak Village, LLC manual.Resident Services and Satisfaction:
1. Fully understand all aspects of residents' rights; maintain the comfort, privacy and dignity of each resident in the delivery of services to them. Interact in a manner that promotes the emotional well-being of the resident. 2. Respond to patients and family member's concerns with empathy and communicate with them in a courteous and respectful manner. 3. Conduct resident surveys. 4. Oversee resident activity programs, 3. Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance on conformity with dress code standards. 4. Answer and refer telephone calls or other inquires to ensure accurate and timely communications are facilitated,Professional Development:
1. Keep up with current research and literature in the nursing field. 2. Maintain licensure and CEU requirements of the State Board of Nursing.Physical Work Environment:
Must be able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds occasionally and to exert 20 pounds of force frequently.
