Job Description

Outgoing and friendly Treatment Coordinator wanted to join our growing dental team. If you are looking for a place where you can make a positive difference for your patients, then this is the place for you. We are a well-established, private practice. We are looking for an experienced, professional, and compassionate team member to help us care for our wonderful patients. The right candidate must have the following attributes: Excellent communication skills, must be a people-person Attention to detail Customer service oriented In-depth understanding of dental treatment and phases Comfortable discussing finances and insurance Great listening skills with the ability to execute A desire to grow with the practice Independent worker with great follow up An adaptable mindset Must have a minimum of 2 years in dental front office. Dentrix and Clinical experience preferred. Job Summary The Treatment Coordinator is responsible for managing a variety of duties related to current and new patients, including coordinating all elements before, during, and following the patient's appointment with the doctors and hygienists at Alpine Dentistry.
Summary of Essential Job Functions:
  • Work with doctors/office manager to develop and/or understand the practice's new patient consultation and examination.
  • Return phone calls/emails pertaining to scheduling, treatment plans and insurance questions.
  • Handling Patient Check in/out, including collecting patient's co-pay and scheduling the next visit.
  • Present Treatment plans for all providers, time permitting.
  • Daily chart audit for doctor or hygiene schedules. Confirming appointments for providers.
  • Scheduling operative and hygiene appointments for provider schedules and manage schedules to maximize production.
  • Manage ASAP list for operative and hygiene appointments.
  • Manage Unscheduled Treatment plans for all providers: follow up with all clients to improve case acceptance.
  • Prepare any necessary referrals for specialists. Follow up with patients after their visits with specialists to aid in scheduling of future treatment.
  • Conduct treatment consultations with all new patients and with existing patients when new treatment plans are presented.
  • Understand the practice's policy on working with dental benefit plans and be prepared to educate patients on their dental benefits. Coordinate this effort with the financial coordinator (if the financial presentation is managed by another staff member).
  • Monitor and track all referral sources of new patients and send the appropriate "thank you" to each source. Send Welcome cards to new patients.
  • Coordinate and communicate daily with the Scheduling Coordinator and Financial Coordinator to determine new patients on the schedule or existing patients with outstanding treatment plans who are in need of a treatment consultation.
  • Photographs on treatment cases- handle copying photos or uploading photos to lab for cases.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the office manager and doctor(s).
  • Possess knowledge of dental insurance and able to process claims and preauthorizations for patient treatment plans.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Proficient in Dentrix, Dexis, Dental Intel, Modento, and Outlook computer software systems.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work with interruptions.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with patients and demonstrate a friendly attitude, even while under pressure or when patients are upset.
  • Ability to promote the practice and educate patients on the treatment benefits.
  • Ability to conduct detailed work according to the practice's established formats and policies.
  • Ability to manage and train staff as it relates to the practice's new patient protocols.
  • Ability to utilize all administrative equipment.
