Job Description
DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTION
This Practice Specialist position is responsible for numerous high level administrative and financial duties critical to the operational management of BHS's Employee Assistance Program, Berkshire Healthworks. S/he works closely with the Administrative Director to develop, maintain, and evaluate key operational functions including contract management, data management and fiscal operations. The Practice Specialist works to continually maximize workflow and fiscal efficiencies. In addition, the Practice Specialist maintains a frontline presence as the sole triage and scheduling contact for the clinical team. S/he must possess flexibility, attention to detail, and independent problem solving, and is required to communicate problems or issues in a timely manner to the pertinent member of the team / department. The Practice Specialist routinely oversees sensitive and confidential information and consistently adheres to the highest standard of confidentiality.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
(Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)Experience:
5 years behavioral health acute care or physician office administrative experience required. Behavioral health billing and charge entry experience, CPT coding, required. Computer/data entry experience preferred. Scheduling experience preferred.Education and Training:
High school diploma required. Associates degree in business preferred Medical Terminology preferred Computer/data entry skills requiredLicense, Certification & Registration:
None Other Requirements:
Strong organizational skills. Excellent verbal, written, communication and analytical skills Excellent interpersonal skills with sensitivity to patient issues, including highest respect for patient confidentiality. Knowledge of Meditech and Allscripts system preferred. Knowledge of ICD-10 codes, preferred.
