SPECIALTY CARE COORDINATOR
TECHNICIAN

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a skilled and motivated optometric technician ready to step into a leadership role at the intersection of clinical care and patient experience. As our Specialty Care Coordinator, you will own three of our most impactful service lines — bringing expertise, organization, and compassion to patients with complex needs. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician who wants to specialize, grow clinically, and make a real difference in patients' long-term eye health.•
YOUR THREE AREAS OF OWNERSHIP DRY EYE CLINIC
Coordinate diagnostic testing, treatment protocols, and follow-up care for chronic dry eye patients.
MYOPIA CONTROL
Manage orthokeratology, multifocal contact lens, and atropine programs with careful patient monitoring and outcome tracking.
SPECIALTY CONTACT LENSES
Fit and manage scleral, RGP, hybrid, and custom lenses for patients with challenging corneal conditions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead patient intake and pre-testing for all three specialty clinics
- Perform corneal topography, meibography, and dry eye diagnostics
- Assist in scleral and RGP lens fitting and dispensing
- Educate patients on treatment plans and proper lens care
- Track outcomes and maintain accurate specialty patient records
- Collaborate with the doctor to refine protocols and workflows
- Order and manage specialty contact lens inventory
- Support insurance verification for specialty services

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- 2+ years of ophthalmic or optometric technician experience
- Strong patient communication and education skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational habits
- Experience with EHR systems (RevolutionEHR a plus)
Preferred:
- COA, COT, CPOT, or equivalent certification
- Hands-on experience with specialty contact lens fitting
- Familiarity with dry eye diagnostic equipment (Meibography, Inflammadry, TearLab, etc.)
- Familiarity with
IPL, RF, LLLT
