Job Description

House of John is a two-bedroom comfort care home in Clifton Springs. We operate under the hospice philosophy, providing 24-hour care for the terminally ill in a residential setting. We offer physical, emotional, and spiritual support to those facing end of life. We also provide support to family members and friends. The Care Coordinator will schedule, train and recruit volunteers to fulfill their roles within our home. The Care Coordinator maintains the schedule for volunteers, per diem workers and staff. Minimum two years of volunteer coordination/development preferred. Must have knowledge of Hospice philosophy and palliative care principles . Nursing background preferred. Must be high energy and be available to volunteers, staff, residents, and families of House of John. Must be able to bend and lift, push and pull, move and carry equipment as necessary. Must be able to prioritize tasks and exhibit compassion and respect for the confidentiality of our residents and families. Must be approachable, tactful, tolerant and demonstrate humility and compassion. Must be flexible and adaptable in an environment that can change from moment to moment. Must be a team player and interact in a professional manner with agency personnel, staff, and volunteers, as well as residents and their families.
Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Computer experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Windows and experience with Publisher or other publication programs necessary.
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
