Job overview We are excited to offer the opportunity for a Clinical Support Worker to join our family here on the Acute Surgical Unit & SEAC. Main duties of the job Acute Surgical Unit is a busy environment that cares for a diverse range of patient groups. You will join a proud, efficient and hardworking team who are committed to exceeding the expectations of their patients. Working for our organisation We operate from three main hospitals
  • Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services. WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses. All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.   • basic literacy and numeracy skills Willingness to undertake NVQ level 2 in care related area Desirable criteria Willingness to undertake NVQ level 3 in care related area Completed Trust Support Worker Programme/Care Certificate ECDL or equivalent Experience Essential criteria Previous experience of working with the general public Desirable criteria Previous experience of working with patients in a care environment Skills, ability and knowledge Essential criteria Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (to understand and be understood).
Good basic hygiene skills Ability to follow a clear instruction and feed back to senior staff. Ability to work as part of a team, as well as on own initiative or with minimal supervision.
