How you'll contribute An Assessment Lead who excels in this role: Facilitates response to request for services, including the initial response, the assessment, and referral process, the designation of appropriate level of care, admission into services, and appropriate follow up activity. Conducts initial evaluation, initiates the assessment, documents patient symptomology, functioning, needs, and provides information to the physician. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills in assisting patients, physicians, visitors, and coworkers in a prompt and courteous manner. Possess clear knowledge of Emergency Detention and EMTALA paperwork and processes. Maintains all pre-admission and admission paperwork with accuracy. Completes all per-certification with insurance companies. Ensures appropriate staffing for each shift. Educates and coaches staff and acts as a point person for clinical decisions. Report on all issues and incidents to the director as appropriate. Ensure staff have completed all needed documentation, call logging, insurance calls, and additional tasks prior to the end of shift. Performs all essential functions of an Assessment Specialist. Ongoing learning and career advancement opportunities. What we're looking for Applicants should have a Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field from an accredited school required, or a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited school required per state regulations.
Additional requirements include:
Independent Counseling or Social Work license required, or Registered Nurse license per state regulations. Two years of assessment experience in an inpatient behavioral health care setting required Two years of experience working with patient populations served at the facility preferred. CPR certification and De-escalation certification is required within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.
