Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Dental Treatment Coordinator serves as the primary liaison between patients and the dental team, ensuring patients understand their treatment plans, financial options, and scheduling needs. This role is responsible for coordinating patient care, improving case acceptance, and delivering an exceptional patient experience from consultation through treatment completion. Key Responsibilities Present and explain recommended dental treatment plans to patients in a clear and professional manner. Educate patients on procedures, treatment benefits, and expected outcomes. Discuss financial arrangements, insurance coverage, and payment options. Verify dental insurance benefits and obtain pre-authorizations when necessary. Coordinate and schedule patient appointments to ensure efficient treatment completion. Follow up with patients regarding unscheduled treatment and outstanding treatment recommendations. Maintain accurate patient records, treatment plans, and financial documentation. Serve as the primary point of contact for patient questions and concerns regarding treatment. Collaborate with dentists, hygienists, and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care. Monitor treatment acceptance rates and work to improve patient conversion. Review daily schedules and help optimize provider productivity. Collect payments and assist patients with financing applications when applicable. Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all patient confidentiality requirements. Handle incoming calls related to treatment questions, scheduling, and financial arrangements. Provide exceptional customer service to foster long-term patient relationships and retention. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred. Previous experience in a dental office, healthcare setting, or treatment coordination role preferred. Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and insurance processes. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Proficiency with dental practice management software. Ability to explain complex information in a patient-friendly manner. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times. Preferred Skills Experience with case presentation and treatment acceptance strategies. Knowledge of dental insurance billing and claims processing. Customer service and patient relationship management experience. Financial coordination and payment plan administration. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
