Overview Salary Range $60,528.00 - $62,571.00 Salary/year Position Type Full Time Job Shift 8-5 M-F may vary Education Level Master's Category Health Care Description Under the supervision of the Director of Utilization and Quality Management, this position is responsible for the delivery of clinical services and community supports to persons with severe and persistent mental illness, as defined by the state authority, The Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). Services are to be provided according to the Texas Resilience and Recovery Model, and must conform to the Performance Contract, Community Service Standards, Medicaid standards, and Helen Farabee Centers policy and procedures. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Employee assists individuals in making informed choices, educating them on community resources, and assisting with accessing services. Staff must provide face-to-face assessment, tele-video, or telephonic services to determine diagnosis, perform uniform assessment, gather social history information and determine initial and on-going eligibility for services. Staff must also provide crisis intervention services to any person requesting help or presenting in crisis during the intake process. Teamwork, initiative and positive example in work habits are expected at all times. Provides consultation and support to fellow staff as needed. This position requires an aptitude for working with severely mentally ill, often impoverished people; and for seeing this work as a clinical specialty in which we take great pride. Staff should have knowledge and skills in assessment, diagnostics, treatment planning, and community support services for children, adults, and geriatric persons with mental illness; as well as knowledge of psychotherapeutic medications and basic casework skills date and/or assistance. HFC incorporates principles of trauma-informed care throughout the agency, emphasizing cultural sensitivity and a safe and respectful environment for all individuals served and staff. All job descriptions include the responsibility to learn about and implement trauma-informed practices within the scope of work for the position. Qualifications Education, Training, and Experience Master's degree from an accredited college or university with major in social, behavioral or human services field. Completion of work toward Licensure and achievement of appropriate professional certifications (i.e., LCSW, LPC, LMFT) required. Experience with Severe and Persistent Mental illness is preferred but not required. Must have valid driver's license and be insurable to drive Center vehicles. Must pass all Center mandated trainings. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to read and proof correspondence, reports and computer printouts manually, etc. Good spelling and grammar skills. Ability to write progress notes according to standard, assessments, brief mental status exams, memos, letters, various complex reports and miscellaneous other documents with acceptable spelling and grammar. Ability to relate verbal instructions, communicate in a courteous and effective fashion with co-workers, consumers and families, agencies and the public.
