Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Chiropractor Assistant Insurance / Billing Specialist to join our dynamic healthcare team. This vital role combines expertise in medical billing and coding with a strong understanding of chiropractic care processes. You will be responsible for managing insurance claims, ensuring accurate coding, and maintaining precise medical records to facilitate smooth billing operations. Your proactive approach will help optimize revenue cycles, improve patient satisfaction, and support the overall efficiency of our practice. As a Chiropractic Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing support to chiropractors and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic. Duties Accurately code chiropractic procedures using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, and ICD-10 codes to ensure proper billing and reimbursement Review and process insurance claims, verifying coverage and eligibility for patients' chiropractic treatments Manage medical billing processes, including submitting claims, following up on unpaid or denied claims, and resolving discrepancies Maintain comprehensive and organized medical records in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems Collaborate with insurance companies to facilitate claims approval and expedite payments Stay current with updates in DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) classifications, CPT coding standards, and medical billing regulations Assist with patient inquiries related to insurance coverage, billing questions, and payment plans Skills Strong knowledge of medical coding including
CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG
classifications, and medical terminology Experience with medical office operations and familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation management Proficiency in medical collection procedures to recover outstanding balances effectively Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy in coding, billing, and recordkeeping Ability to interpret insurance policies and communicate clearly with insurance providers and patients Knowledge of medical records management standards and compliance regulations Demonstrated ability to multitask efficiently in a busy healthcare environment while maintaining professionalism Join us in delivering exceptional chiropractic care while streamlining administrative processes!
