MDS Consultant

Sun Mar Healthcare is currently looking for an experienced full-time MDS Consultant. The pay range is $100,000-$120,000 Annually, depending on experience! This position will be based in the San Diego area. We're a skilled nursing facility looking for dynamic associates to join our clinical team and provide our guests with a care experience that will change their lives!

Duties:

Reports to Director of Clinical Reimbursement Specialist Reviews MDS documentation for accuracy and appropriateness; Audits resident's chart to monitor that services match needs and documentation reflects categories for reimbursement Monitors PCC/TSI reports and PCC for accuracy of MDS coding. Monitors and assists with validation of Quality Measures report for accuracy of MDS coding. Assists with developing and presenting training materials for MDS training sessions. Monitors that facilities follow Medicare/Medicaid regulatory and guidelines. Participates in interviews MDS Coordinators. Assists nursing staff in improving MDS assessment skills through formal and informal training. Coordinates training and communication with Clinical Services staff as needed. Performs audits per company standards and policies to ensure appropriate levels of reimbursement. Remains abreast of regulatory change for Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement and communicates necessary information to appropriate personnel. Participates in developing and updating Medicare PPS policies and procedures. Collaborates with corporate and/or facility staff related to denial issues affected by the MDS. Works with facility, corporate and regional staff to assure appropriate levels of reimbursement. Monitors submission requirements according to Federal and State standards. Monitors to assure the complete and timely submission of MDS data according to Federal and State reimbursement requirements. Collaborates with the facility to keep them informed of new developments for Federal and State payment systems.

Requirements:

Current RN License in state of California At least 1 year experience in MDS Consultant role in
