As a Medicaid Analyst, you'll help ensure real-time eligibility, support managed care services, and provide excellent customer service—all while contributing to the ongoing evolution of Louisiana's healthcare system. Following Policies and Procedures :
The ability to follow, reinforce, adapt, or develop policies and procedures to maintain compliance with federal and state legal requirements, State Civil Service rules, and organizational policies. Three years of social services experience; OR Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR A bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. Job Duties:
Acquire and maintain comprehensive knowledge of Medicaid policies, procedures, and eligibility requirements Determine Medicaid eligibility for applicants and members accurately and in a timely manner using established tools and systems Assist members through multiple channels, including phone, in-person, email, and electronic submissions Receive, review, and process applications submitted by mail, email, online portals, or in person Utilize web-based programs and electronic systems to manage and update member information and eligibility status Provide excellent customer service, answering questions and guiding members through the application and eligibility process Perform routine eligibility activities independently while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail Work efficiently in a combination of sedentary computer-based tasks and high-volume call center interactions Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent and accurate application processing and support Support professional development and career growth by mastering Medicaid eligibility policies and procedures

Compensation:
This position is eligible for the following Special Entrance Rates (SER), as well as a Premium Pay of up to $2.00/hr. for hours worked based on longevity. Medicaid Analyst 1 - $16.42 hr. / $1,313.60 bi-weekly Medicaid Analyst 2 - $17.56 hr. / $1,404.80 bi-weekly
