Job Description

Clinician
Summary:
The Intensive Outpatient (IOP) Clinician is responsible for providing direct and indirect intensive outpatient clinical services to individuals with psychiatric disorders, substance abuse and addiction problems, and/or co-occurring disorders. This position will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to create an individualized recovery program for each client. This position will provide effective client supervision and counseling services both individual and group as well as facilitate treatment plans. Direct services include conducting client supervision, providing individual and group counseling and support, intake and assessment. Indirect services include staff meetings, supervision and operational management policies and procedures. The IOP Clinician is also responsible for insuring that all payment authorizations are secured and maintained throughout treatment episodes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain flexible schedule to perform clinical assessments, provide individual/group therapy and intensive outpatient services. Secure initial insurance authorization and all required concurrent authorizations throughout care. Complete all treatment planning and discharge documentation according to policy. Input all clinical documentation in Connecticut Renaissance's EHR accurately and timely. Communicate with referral sources on the status of each client's progress and performance within the program, including the preparation of reports. Participate in all required internal and external meetings. Provide urinalysis/breathalizer testing when indicated and within guidelines of monitoring. Attend all required trainings to enhance knowledge and skill level Adhere to licensing, accreditation and funding source requirements. Meet thresholds for program and agency outcomes measures.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:
Knowledge Of:
Diagnosis and assessment of co-occurring disorders. Fee for service and billing requirements for outpatient services. Electronic Health Record
Ability To:
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Manage priorities effectively to meet deadlines and demonstrate multi-tasking skills. Ability to employ effective organizational skills to meet goals Able to work independently and as part of a team
Education and Experience:
Master Degree with Licensure in Behavioral Health (LPC, LCSW, LMFT) or Associate Licensure (LPCa, LMFTa, LMSW) in CT. Additional LADC a plus. Minimum of 3 years of working experience in behavioral health field. Experience in trauma informed care preferred. Experience with substance abuse clients, co-occurring diagnosed clients and criminal justice population preferred.
Other:
Must be dependable and reliable; detailed oriented; and able to interface easily with clients, staff, and referral sources. Must be able to carry up to 20 pounds. Must successfully complete the introductory probationary employment period. Must have a valid CT driver's license This job description covers the most significant duties but does not exclude other assignments or related duties.
