ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Include:
Demonstrate a sense of urgency related to the importance of client safety and provide excellent client care. Ensure the well-being of clients and provide a positive, supportive and structured environment. Provide case management and counseling to clients and support the clinical team. Able to handle tense emotional situations with clients through use of deescalation skills. Document timely, accurate and appropriate clinical information in client's medical record. Skills to handle crisis intervention. Assist in providing a safe, secure and comfortable environment for clients. Interact routinely with clients, observe and document behaviors and communicate significant observations to clinical and nursing staff. Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards clients always. Communicate any and all concerns to supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
Certified AOD counselor
Must have experience in addiction recovery in a residential-treatment setting. Must have a positive and professional demeanor. Detail oriented in both observation and application. Team-oriented personality, abilities, and willingness to be flexible. Availability for evening and weekends. Current certification with a certifying body, i.e. CCAPP or CADTP. Familiarity with detox and related medication procedures. Must have a positive and healthy solution-oriented demeanor
