This is a rare combined role: you'll provide hands-on case management and counseling support today and work under board-approved supervision toward your Maryland counseling credentials. About Holland Wellness Center Holland Wellness Center is a Maryland behavioral health and wellness organization providing substance use and mental health services. We focus on client-centered care, strong clinical documentation, and a supportive team environment where new professionals are trained and mentored, not left to figure it out alone. About the Role You'll carry a case management role while training toward Maryland's alcohol and drug counseling credentials under a qualified supervisor. As you progress, you'll take on group facilitation and individual counseling under supervision. Over time, the position is designed to support your path from Alcohol and Drug Trainee (ADT) toward the Certified Supervised Counselor - Alcohol and Drug (CSC-AD) and beyond. You'll gain real client experience, supervised counseling hours, and structured professional development. What You'll Do Provide case management and care coordination for clients in substance use and behavioral health programs Conduct intakes, biopsychosocial assessments, and follow-ups under clinical supervision Develop, monitor, and update individualized treatment and recovery plans with the clinical team Connect clients to community resources, housing, medical care, and support services Communicate professionally with clients, families, providers, courts, and referral partners Track deadlines, appointments, authorizations, and required reporting Group Facilitation Co-facilitate and, as you progress under supervision, lead psychoeducational and recovery support groups (e.g., relapse prevention, coping skills, early recovery, anger management, and life skills) Prepare group curricula and materials, manage group dynamics, and foster a safe, respectful, participatory environment Encourage engagement, model healthy communication, and address disruptions or crises within group settings Record group attendance, participation, and clinical observations for each member's record Individual Counseling Conduct individual counseling sessions under the direction of a board-approved supervisor as you build toward credentialing Apply evidence-based approaches such as motivational interviewing and CBT-informed techniques to support client goals Collaborate with clients to set goals, monitor progress, and adjust treatment plans with the clinical team Reinforce relapse-prevention strategies, screen for risk, and escalate safety concerns appropriately Coordinate with prescribers, peer support, and outside providers to support continuity of care Documentation & Compliance Write timely, accurate clinical documentation: intake assessments, individualized treatment plans, individual progress notes, group notes, and discharge/transition summaries Complete documentation for every individual and group session within required timeframes and program standards Maintain records in the electronic health record (EHR) in compliance with state regulations, payer/Medicaid requirements, and accreditation standards Ensure notes support medical necessity, level of care, and continuity of care, and are audit-ready Uphold
