Independent Contractor (1099) Position Summary The Bilingual Play Therapist is an independent contractor who provides play-based mental health services to Genesis clients, with a primary focus on Spanish-speaking children and families. This role supports Genesis' outpatient service model by delivering developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed therapy in both clinic and community settings, including local public schools. The contractor will utilize evidence-based play therapy approaches to support emotional regulation, relational health, and developmental progress in children, particularly those under age 13. Scope of Services Clinical Services Provide individual play therapy using developmentally appropriate, evidence-based models (e.g., child-centered play therapy) Deliver services in both Spanish and English, ensuring accessibility for Spanish-speaking families Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and maintain clinical documentation consistent with professional standards Provide family therapy and caregiver guidance as clinically appropriate School-Based & Community Services Provide therapy services in local public schools, particularly for Spanish-speaking students Coordinate with school personnel as appropriate while maintaining client confidentiality Adapt therapeutic approach to school-based environments and scheduling constraints Collaboration & Coordination Coordinate with Genesis staff (Clinical Director, Case Manager, administrative support) for: Referrals and client assignment Scheduling coordination General care alignment Participate in case consultations or meetings as needed for continuity of care Independent Contractor Structure This role is structured as an independent contractor relationship.The contractor:
Maintains independent clinical judgment in all treatment decisions Is not considered an employee of Genesis and is responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and professional compliance Has flexibility in scheduling within the operational needs of Genesis and partner sites (e.g., schools) May provide services to other organizations, provided there is no conflict with Genesis obligations Genesis will: Provide referrals and access to a client base Handle billing and collections through its systems (TheraNest) Provide access to furnished therapy spaces and shared resources Offer administrative and operational support necessary to deliver services Compensation Compensation is based on a 70/30 revenue split: 70% paid to the contractor 30% retained by Genesis for administrative, billing, facility, and program support The split applies to collected revenue (not billed charges) Genesis' portion supports: Billing and claims management Use of EHR (TheraNest) Office space and therapy materials Scheduling and administrative coordination General operational infrastructure Payment terms (to be defined in contract): Frequency (e.g., biweekly or monthly) Reporting of collections and adjustments Qualifications Required Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field Active Oklahoma license (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or under supervision, if applicable) Fluency in Spanish and English Training and experience in play therapy or child-centered therapeutic approaches Experience working with children, preferably under age 13 Preferred Registered Play Therapist (RPT) or actively pursuing credential through Association for Play Therapy Experience in school-based therapy services Experience working with underserved or culturally diverse populations Familiarity with trauma-informed and attachment-based models Professional Requirements The contractor is responsible for maintaining: Active professional license in good standing Professional liability insurance (meeting Genesis minimum coverage requirements) Completion of required background checks per Genesis policy Compliance with all applicable laws, ethical standards, and payer requirements Work Environment Services may be provided in: Genesis campus therapy spaces (fully furnished play therapy rooms) Local public schools Other approved community-based settings The contractor must: Provide reliable transportation for off-site services Adapt to varying environments, schedules, and session formats Clinical Approach Alignment Genesis primarily utilizes child-centered, non-directive play therapy, recognizing that: Children process experiences through play rather than direct verbalization Therapeutic change occurs through consistent, safe relational environments The therapist facilitates rather than directs the child's process Contractors are expected to align with this general framework while maintaining clinical independence.Pay:
