The LCSW Field Supervisor in the MCAH home visitation program directs the clinical practices of field-based staff. In this role, she ensures adherence to therapeutic models, manage crisis interventions, and provide ongoing professional development, all while maintaining the high ethical and legal standards required for community-based mental health. The clinical social worker supervisor oversees the ethical, legal, and professional development of pre-licensed clinicians. Core duties include conducting weekly supervision, monitoring client care, reviewing clinical documentation, verifying licensing hours, and managing escalated crises while strictly adhering to regulatory standards.

Los Angeles Key Responsibilities Case Oversight & Triage:
Reviewing client case files to assess risks, monitor treatment plans, and ensure that field interventions are safe and effective.
Staff Supervision & Mentorship:
Facilitating weekly individual and group supervision. This includes overseeing Associate Clinical Social Workers (ASWs) who are accumulating supervised hours toward their LCSW licensure.
Safety & Compliance:
Ensuring that home visitors adhere to strict mandated reporting guidelines, professional boundaries, and state licensing regulations (like those outlined by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences).
Program Models:
Ensuring model fidelity for evidence-based home visitation programs, such as Nurse-Family Partnership Maternal Child and Adolescent Health (MCAH). Local Context (Los Angeles Area Service Planning Areas (SPA's 1-8) The supervisor in Los Angeles County often handles multidisciplinary teams navigating complex social determinants of health. She routinely collaborates with the Department of Mental Health (DMH) and the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). The role may also involve fieldwork, requiring the supervisor to accompany staff on home visits to provide direct modeling and real-time crisis support. The supervisor also collaborates with community agencies including Healthy Families America (HFA) and Parents As Teachers (PAT).
