Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Qualified Mental Health Professional to join our dynamic behavioral health team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive mental health services, including psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and case management, to diverse populations ranging from children to geriatrics. Your expertise will help clients navigate mental health challenges, develop coping strategies, and achieve their personal goals. Duties Conduct thorough clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to determine client needs and develop personalized treatment plans. Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions incorporating modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA). Implement crisis management protocols and crisis intervention techniques to ensure client safety during emergencies or acute episodes. Deliver specialized services including PTSD care, grief counseling, addiction counseling, gender issues counseling, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder. Maintain accurate medical documentation and medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations; utilize medical terminology effectively in patient care reports. Facilitate intake procedures, patient assessments, and behavioral health screenings to establish treatment priorities. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on case management efforts and coordinate outpatient or inpatient services as needed. Engage in clinical research activities and data collection to support program development and quality improvement initiatives. Utilize telehealth platforms for remote counseling sessions while adhering to confidentiality standards and ICD coding requirements for billing purposes. Experience Proven experience providing mental health counseling in outpatient or inpatient settings within behavioral health or clinical research environments. Demonstrated expertise in psychotherapy techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, and trauma-informed care including PTSD management. Strong background working with children, adolescents, adults with disabilities—including autism spectrum disorder—and geriatrics in diverse clinical settings such as hospitals or clinics. Familiarity with crisis intervention strategies, crisis management protocols, behavior management techniques, and working with individuals experiencing chronic pain or grief. Experience conducting diagnostic evaluations using
ICD-9/ICD-10
coding systems; proficient in medical documentation and medical terminology related to mental health conditions. Telehealth experience preferred; ability to adapt therapeutic approaches for virtual delivery while maintaining engagement and confidentiality standards. Knowledge of social work principles, CPT coding for billing purposes, HIPAA compliance, and medical records management is highly desirable. Additional skills include addiction counseling, working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism, special education practices, psychopharmacology basics, gender issues counseling, and familiarity with ICD coding systems for accurate diagnosis documentation. $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
