Roanoke Resource Full-Time or Part-Time (Mon-Fri or Weekends)|
Community-Based Position Pay:
Negotiable Based on Experience Position Summary Roanoke Resource is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Skill Builder to provide community-based services to adults with serious mental illness and co-occurring disorders. This position focuses on helping individuals develop and strengthen the skills necessary to achieve and maintain independence in the community. The Skill Builder will work directly with individuals in their homes and community settings, assisting them in achieving goals identified in their individualized service plans. Services are provided entirely in the community and require regular travel throughout the service area. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide Mental Health Skill Building services in accordance with individualized service plans.
  • Assist individuals in developing skills related to independent living, communication, socialization, problem-solving, self-care, budgeting, medication management, and community integration.
  • Conduct routine community and home visits.
  • Support individuals in accessing community resources, benefits, medical care, and mental health services.
  • Monitor progress toward treatment goals and adjust interventions as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with agency, state, and payer requirements.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and collaborate with providers, case managers, family members, and other community partners.
  • Provide crisis support and intervention when appropriate.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and uphold client confidentiality at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support quality client care. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related Human Services field required.
  • Must possess current QMHP or QMHP-T registration/eligibility.
  • Minimum of one year of direct clinical experience working with adults with mental health diagnoses.
  • Knowledge of serious mental illness, recovery-oriented practices, and community-based behavioral health services.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent clinical documentation and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with supervisors and treatment teams. Requirements
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Valid driver's license and current automobile insurance required.
  • Ability to travel throughout the community to provide services.
  • Ability to pass all required background screenings and maintain agency-required certifications. Benefits
