Job Description Develops, designs, installs and maintains clinical documentation, imaging and reporting systems across the organization. As a primary point person for specific function(s),resolves all support and maintenance activities within the assigned area. Serves as a direct liaison with users, operations personnel and trainers. Responsibilities are driven by Imaging Informatics mission and can range from hardware support to clinical applications maintenance to QC activities related to data integrity as assigned. This position represents a level of achievement within the field where the individual takes on responsibility as a clinical application administrator for one or more areas. Key Duties & Responsibilities 1. Responsible for the primary support and maintenance for one or more key clinical applications. Designs, builds, and tests data workflows within medical imaging systems. Identifies and implements changes to optimize user workflows, increase efficiency, and ensure integrity of medical records. Participates in design sessions with users to develop novel solutions to address needs in clinical and research space. Mentor and train team members on systems administration as needed. Configure and test changes directed by enterprise and external entities. 2. Participates in upgrade and strategic projects as assigned. Assists with coordination of project resources as needed. Performs key user education, training, and documentation preparation. Tests and installs new client software as needed. 3. Monitors PACS worklists as assigned. Monitors HL7 error queues as assigned. Resolves image generation issues with technologists. Resolves physician interpretation issues. Corrects and resubmits interface messages. Reviews current practices to develop improved efficiency and reduction of errors in system operation. 4. Provides around-the-clock call coverage on a scheduled rotation with team. Provides systems support for clinical information systems to resolve issues with orders, results, dictation, interfaces, and other areas as assigned. 5. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, and five (5) years of clinical informatics or PACS administration experience. Prior experience should include database management, project coordination and general administration. Work experience and proof of related continuing education/training courses/technical seminars may substitute for education requirement. Experience as a technical administrator for EMR, PACS, and dictation systems in a clinical setting preferred. Experience with data reconciliation, applications testing and end user training preferred. One (1) year exposure to programming environment performing software development and testing preferred.
