Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Front Desk Insurance Coordinator to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, managing insurance verification, billing processes, and medical administrative support. Your energetic approach will ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate documentation, and exceptional patient service. The ideal candidate will possess strong computer skills, familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems, and a passion for delivering outstanding healthcare administrative support. Duties Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits using systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, and other EHR platforms Collect and review documentation related to insurance claims, ensuring accuracy in CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9/ICD coding, and medical billing procedures Facilitate insurance authorization processes and follow up on claim statuses to optimize reimbursement Manage patient scheduling using front desk software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix while maintaining efficient clinic flow Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette; assist patients with inquiries and appointment scheduling Maintain accurate medical records by filing documents securely and updating electronic health information management systems Support medical office management tasks including intake procedures, data entry, and clerical support to ensure seamless clinic operations Requirements Prior experience in a medical office setting or dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology and health information management Proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix or Eaglesoft Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security Knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding standards, Medicare guidelines, and medical billing processes Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service and phone etiquette; bilingual abilities are a plus Ability to review documentation thoroughly for accuracy and completeness in accordance with insurance requirements Familiarity with office equipment including multi-line phones, 10-key typing, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and other computer skills necessary for efficient workflow Previous experience in medical or dental office management or administrative support preferred Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment Join our team as a Front Desk Insurance Coordinator where your energetic attitude and meticulous attention to detail will contribute directly to providing exceptional patient care.
