Removing Barriers to Healthcare Access ECHC Eureka Community Health Center The Site Electronic Health Records (EHR) Specialist is responsible for direct support to clinical operations and patient care teams to facilitate the introduction, acceptance, integration, and optimal use of the EHR, EPIC, in the clinic setting. The Site EHR Specialist helps solve EPIC issues for Open Door Community Health Centers (ODCHC) employees. They offer direct in person support in clinic as needed.
Compensation Range:
$25.00-$28.87 Hmong and Spanish speakers who successfully pass a language exam will receive a minimum of .75 cents added to their wage.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide direct support to clinical operations and patient care teams to facilitate the introduction, acceptance, integration, and optimal use of the Epic application in the clinic. Provide daily support to Epic applications users through troubleshooting, coaching, and consulting. Identify and troubleshoot application issues as they occur, owning the problem and seeing it through to full resolution. Issues that require additional assistance will be referred to the IT Help Desk. Work with advisory workgroups to optimize use of the system through implementation of new Epic PM and EHR features and upgrades. Attend appropriate clinic meetings as Epic expert. Coordinate training to new clinic staff and providers and support upgrade training. Provide competency/efficiency training for existing users. Attend and participate in ODCHC sessions for interest-raising, problem-solving, or training topics. Assist in providing expertise or resources (i.e. handouts) to support sessions. Ensure any changes to EHR are communicated to end users in a timely and understandable manner. Assist with administrative functions. Coordinate special projects as assigned. Other duties and responsibilities as designated by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPECTATIONS
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish constructive professional working relationships among a diverse workforce. Ability to direct, teach, and demonstrate to others the functions of their equipment. Ability to work as a member of a team and independently as needed. Ability to handle difficult or confrontational situations in a calm, consistent, and equitable manner. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively represent ODCHC's interests in the community and maintain effective working relationships among co-workers, public, private, and professional groups. Strong computer skills with specific aptitude in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Adheres to ODCHC's policies and procedures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED. Two years of experience in a similar role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of or experience with a practice management system required. Knowledge of ODCHC clinic operations and workflows preferred.

SUPERVISION AND SUPPORT
The Site EHR Specialist reports directly to the EHR System Supervisor and is an integral member of the EHR Training team.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This is largely an office-based position. The physical requirements described are representative of those needed to successfully perform the essential duties of the position.
