Duties Manage and process patient referrals accurately and promptly across multiple specialties and services Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility using managed care systems and insurance portals Maintain comprehensive medical records, including documentation of referral details, medical history, and treatment plans Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy at all times Utilize CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding to document diagnoses and procedures correctly Coordinate with medical offices to schedule appointments and follow-up care based on referral requirements Review and update referral statuses regularly, communicating proactively with providers and patients about any delays or issues Requirements Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment, preferably with referral management or care coordination experience Strong knowledge of managed care processes, insurance verification procedures, and medical billing practices Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information Proficiency in medical terminology, medical records management, and medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10) Experience with office software systems, electronic health records (EHR), and referral management platforms Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to handle multiple tasks efficiently Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with healthcare providers, insurance companies, patients, and team members Join us in making a difference by streamlining the referral process to ensure timely access to quality healthcare.
