Job Description

OVERVIEW OF POSITION
The Intern will be responsible for assisting the Prior Authorization Specialist with processing and continuous improvement efforts for prior authorizations. This role will support the prior authorization process by reviewing medical documentation for accuracy and completeness prior to each submittal. This internship is designed to provide exposure to the Medical Device industry and health insurance processes, and will collaborate with cross-functional teams including New Patient Intake, Sales, Marketing, Medical Records, Customer Experience, and Billing teams.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Support the Medical Records team by completing setup of new referral accounts, special projects, and administrative tasks as needed. Aid with collection of incomplete or missing documentation. Help ensure all materials are consistent with brand and compliance standards. Support the team with preparation and review of Prior Authorizations. Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPPA and organizational policies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Healthcare Administration or a related field. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities. Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with CRM systems, Adobe Acrobat, or Brightree experience is a plus. Interest in medical equipment, healthcare, customer experience, sales, and marketing. Professional demeanor and willingness to work collaboratively across teams.
