Clinical Informatics Specialist Internal Only Department Only Location Coeur d'Alene, ID Facility Kootenai Health Department IS - Healthcare Informatics & Education Schedule/Shift/Hours Full Time - Days Category Clerical Hours Per Pay Period 80 = 1.0 Req #: 47484 Apply Now Save Job Saved Clinical Informatics Specialist Position Summary The Clinical Informatics Specialist supports the maintenance and accuracy of clinical content within the EHR, with a focus on coordinating the annual order set review process and ensuring compliance with evidence-based and regulatory standards. This role completes small to medium-complexity order set updates, troubleshoots basic build issues, and conducts small-scale testing to move order set updates through the defined process. In addition, this role provides physician onboarding support assist with downtime form and training material formatting. Responsibilities Develops, coordinates, organizes and maintains the annual order set review process to ensure compliance Works with providers and relevant stakeholders to maintain evidence based and regulatory compliant order sets Completes small to medium complexity order sets changes with the system Troubleshoots, identifies root cause, and documents problems of simple complexity for orders and order set builds Executes small-scale application testing for order sets Collaborates with Informaticist on standardization and process improvement opportunities Provides Physician onboarding support Assists with the development and formatting of downtime forms and related documentation Assists with formatting and organization of training material Participates in after hours on-call, on-call rotation and service recovery efforts as required Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function Performs other related duties as assigned Competent to meet age-specific needs of the unit assigned Requirements and Minimum Qualifications Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred Minimum 4 years' experience in a clinical or healthcare related setting required Epic Orders Certification required Knowledge of medical terminology Excellent typing and communication skills Computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft and web-based applications Must be organized, detail oriented and able to work independently Working Conditions Must be able to reach arms above or below shoulder height Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position Must be able to move or traverse with/without accommodation Must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information Typical equipment used in an office job Repetitive movements
