_PARAGRAPH JOB_DESCRIPTION.SHARE.HTML Midland, Michigan Information Technology 8-4:30 Regular Full-Time Day Shift Information Technology 46100 Job Description Summary This position directly reports to the Information Technology leader responsible for training and will provide training and support for providers in all MyMichigan subsidiaries. This includes initial training as well as ongoing support in the form of post-live refreshers, optimization, ongoing training, and skills-enhancement training to ensure the optimal utilization of the current electronic medical record. In addition this trainer would also support providers for web-based information technology (IT) products, and other software products available for use by providers. The position requires communication with the IT and operations teams when business and patient-related issues are identified and with the principal trainers when training materials and issues are key. The provider credentialed trainer would be responsible for pulling together the training materials needed for refreshers and Thrive training based on topics agreed to by the CMIO. This position will also be responsible for assisting with performance improvement projects. If time permits the trainer will assist with end-user training and Super User refresher training. Travel and flexible hours are required to facilitate training and provider meetings. Responsibilities (70%)
  • Lead all provider and med student training sessions, including independents and locums. This includes personalization work and at the elbow support for onboarding and issues identified. Will assist Principal Trainers with review and development of training materials. (10%)
  • In conjunction with the CMIO and Director and Informatics staff, develop the plan for post go-live ongoing training classes to be offered, including the material to be covered. Develop training materials for each class in conjunction with the principal trainers and teach classes. (5%)
  • Collaborate with the Information Technology Department staff as well as staff from other departments to facilitate optimal utilization of all patient-care focused IT products and associated required documentation. (4%)
  • Attend Provider Meetings as assigned to provide updates on Epic features, discuss issues with providers, and provide training updates. (4%)
  • Assist user groups resulting in meeting user needs through constructive discussion and problem solving. (4%
  • ) Assist Physician Informaticists/CMIO in summarizing identified opportunities for new build and policy revisions related to Orders/CCD conversion/Clinical workflows/MIPS/Quality. (3%
  • ) Monitor and ensure that policies and procedures related to accuracy, integrity, and security are followed.

S trong communication skills:
Credentialed trainers need to communicate clearly and effectively in the classroom as well as one-on-one with providers.
E ducation/training experience:
Candidates with prior education experience have a leg up in classroom management and presentation skills.
A daptability/flexibility:
Trainers work in a world of frequent change and need to quickly adapt to requests from providers for assistance, as well as updates in the curriculum and the training environment.
C omputer proficiency:
Candidates must be comfortable using computers and be able to quickly master new software programs. They should know how to troubleshoot basic technical issues and be competent with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
H ealthcare industry background:
To understand the context of workflows, an understanding of the healthcare industry is important. Credentialed trainers working with providers should have a clinical background. They will need to completely understand the provider roles and all of the tasks they perform that require documentation in the EMR. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND SKILLS M
inimum 3-5 years of work experience in a clinical role within a health system preferred. K nowledge of a health care system and its workflows E xcellent presentation and facilitation skills. E xcellent relationship building skills. Ability to work well with providers in meetings and when planning and conducting training which requires communication of ideas and concepts in a clear and understandable manner, the ability to handle multiple tasks, excellent organizational skills, outstanding customer service, and the ability to work with people at all levels in the provider's practice as well as the analysts in IT. Ability to handle multiple tasks.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as, trauma, grief and death. Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position. Is able to move freely about facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description. Overall vision and hearing is necessary with or without assisted device(s). Frequently required to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time. May require frequent postural changes such as stooping, kneeling or crouching. Some exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious material. Must follow MyMichigan Health bloodborne pathogen and TB testing as required. Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, regular and predictable attendance and ability to stay awake. Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling. May require repetition of these movements on a regular to frequent basis.
Physical Demand Level:
