Information Technology Job Summary Analyzes health care processes and workflows for improvements in patient care. Essential Functions Identifies opportunities for improvement to workflow using health information technology by collaborating with healthcare providers and administrators. Liaises between clinical staff and IT to partner on optimization of healthcare systems and software. Assists to develop and deliver training for clinical staff on health information technology. Provides end-user support to promote effective process design, development, and implementation with the organization's use of Electronic Health Record (EHR) including other related system implementations and upgrades. Collaborates effectively with Directors and users to solve application and workflow issues. Provides troubleshooting and coordinates resolution of technical problems and information technology issues related to the Electronic Medical Record. Identify, communicate, and coordinate new processes, system functionality, system changes, and enhancements to support clinical information, provide optimum productivity, and increase compliance with quality indicators. Assists with the identification, evaluation, and assessment of new care delivery technology, developing recommendations on the impact of integration with existing workflows and systems. Assists with projects for implementations including testing, implementation and post-implementation monitoring of adoption and use. Assists with the development, implementation, and maintenance of continuing education programs for staff pertaining to the electronic health record and related systems; identifies areas that are prone to problems and provides coaching, training, and consulting to increase knowledge and skills. Coordinates data reporting as needed and performs analysis necessary to support patient/clinical records and quality improvement. Education Associate's degree in healthcare, IT, or related field. Associate's degree in technical field is preferred. Clinical license (RN, LPN, RT, MA, etc.) is preferred. Experience At least 2 years of technical knowledge in a hospital setting is required. Informatics or system implementation experience is preferred. Healthcare experience in ambulatory, inpatient, or clinical informatics (not limited to a specific role or license) is preferred.
