Associate Director, Epic Ambulatory and Patient Experience Exciting opportunity atMemorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center:
We are seeking Associate Director, Epic Ambulatory and Patient Experience. In this role, you will lead the strategic direction, delivery, and optimization of Epic Ambulatory and Patient Experience platforms supporting MSK's clinical, operational, and patient engagement objectives . This role will oversee a team of IT professionals responsible for the design, build, support, and continuous improvement of critical applications including EpicCare Ambulatory, Ambulatory specialty modules, Interoperability solutions, MyChart, and Healthy Planet. You will provide strategic and leadership oversight to Team Leads managing Epic application analysts, supporting effective solution delivery for ambulatory operations, population health, interoperability, and digital patient engagement initiatives across the organization.Role Overview:
Manages a team of skilled IT professionals responsible for the design, build, optimization, and support of Epic Ambulatory, Patient Experience, and Interoperability applications, including EpicCare Ambulatory, ambulatory specialty modules, Care Everywhere, CareLink , MyChart, and Healthy Planet. Offers strategic supervision and direction to Team Leads who directly manage application analysts, ensuring high-quality delivery of system capabilities aligned with clinical, operational, and patient engagement objectives Guarantees collaboration and smooth operations throughout ambulatory and patient experience application areas spanning various teams Offers strategic and operational direction across Epic Ambulatory and Patient Experience areas, including roadmap development, upgrade scheduling, production support, and long-term optimization Accountable for staff management, budget oversight, and resource planning across the application portfolio Converts organizational priorities into practical workplans, coordinating resources, schedules, and deliverables through Team Leads Prioritizes tasks, performance expectations, and governance structures to drive consistent execution and continuous improvement Leads complex, cross-functional initiatives alongside senior leadership, guiding decision-making and promoting organizational change across ambulatory operations, population health, and digital patient experienceKey Qualifications:
Epic Ambulatory certification required MyChart certification preferred 5+ years Epic application support experience 3+ years Epic Ambulatory application experience Proven experience leading Epic application teams in a healthcare environment Strong background in ambulatory workflows, patient engagement, and population health systems Strong Project management experience as well as in managing budgets, resources, and cross-functional IT initiativesCore Skills:
Demonstrated leadership of Epic Ambulatory and Patient Experience application teams, encompassing build, optimization, and production support of complex clinical systems Ability to define and complete strategic application roadmaps aligned with organizational priorities and enterprise digital transformation goals Strong track record of partnering with clinical, operational, and executive collaborators to align technology solutions with patient care and business needs Experience leading IT teams through team leads, with a focus on mentoring, performance management, and talent development Operational excellence in production support, incident management, root cause analysis, and driving continuous service improvement Expertise in establishing governance frameworks, standards, and structured release management across Epic application domains Proven ability to foster collaboration across ambulatory operations, population health, and digital patient experience initiatives Strong analytical and leadership capability in defining and bringing to bear important metrics to improve system performance, adoption, and operational outcomesAdditional Information Reports To:
