Access Template Coordinator- Pediatrics Lifespan United States, Rhode Island, Providence 117 Ellenfield Street (Show on map) Jun 30, 2026 Job Summary The Access Template Coordinator is responsible for the design, build, maintenance, and ongoing optimization of provider and ancillary scheduling templates to maximize patient access, support clinic operations, and improve scheduling efficiency. This role serves as a key liaison among Patient Access, Clinic Operations, Epic IT, and Access Optimization partners to ensure templates align with best practices, operational needs, and organizational access goals. The coordinator analyzes template utilization, advises on scheduling configuration, supports testing and implementation of changes, and ensures all template builds comply with established standards. This position plays a critical role in improving appointment availability, provider productivity, and overall access performance. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Template Optimization & Analysis Analyze provider capacity, utilization, and access metrics to optimize template design and slot utilization. Support discovery, design, and implementation of efficient provider and ancillary templates. Research and recommend best practices related to visit types, blocks, block releases, and other template components. Serve as a gatekeeper for new visit type requests and template changes. Complete impact analyses to assess downstream effects on access, clinic workflow, staffing, productivity, expense, and revenue. Notify leadership when requested changes do not align with template build standards or when broader redesign is recommended. Present utilization and access reviews to supported departments or institutes as requested. Support Patient Access leadership in monitoring and assisting scheduling, referral, verification, and authorization workflows Template Build & Maintenance Build, edit, and maintain provider and ancillary templates across multiple departments and locations within Epic Cadence. Manage provider-to-department mappings, visit type usage, subgroups, and template structures based on operational changes. Ensure all template changes comply with organizational guidelines and release standards. Submit and track Cadence master file and related system configuration changes accurately and timely. Proactively identify gaps, inefficiencies, or inconsistencies in template configuration. Testing & Quality Assurance Complete template testing, scheduling validation, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) prior to release. Ensure template accuracy, appropriateness, and compliance with system and access standards before golive. Participate in testing and signoff for new Epic scheduling functionality as it is released. Relationship Management & Communication Serve as a liaison among PAC, clinic management, Epic IT, Access Optimization, and institute leadership. Build and maintain strong working relationships with operational leaders and scheduling partners. Provide consultative support to clinic operations regarding template configuration and access optimization. Attend department or specialty meetings to ensure alignment between templates and clinic workflows. Educate operational teams on template standards, scheduling guidelines, and access best practices. Issue Resolution & Escalation Serve as an escalation point for templaterelated issues. Maintain issue logs, coordinate resolution with internal and external partners, and track issues to completion. Communicate barriers, risks, and opportunities clearly to leadership and stakeholders. Qualifications Required Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in healthcare scheduling, patient access, or clinic operations. Epic Cadence experience or strong familiarity with provider scheduling workflows. Analytical skills with the ability to interpret utilization, access, and scheduling data. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Bachelor's degree. Epic Cadence certification. Experience working in a centralized scheduling or access center environment. Experience partnering with clinical leadership and IT teams on system optimization initiatives. Pay Range:
$28.12-$46.39
