Job Details:
General Notes The Epic Application Analyst (Op Time/Anesthesia) supports the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of Epic Op Time and Anesthesia applications across surgical and perioperative environments. This role partners closely with perioperative clinical staff, anesthesia providers, operational leaders, information technology teams, and vendors to support system optimization, workflow improvements, and high-quality application support. Purpose The Epic Application Analyst (Op Time/Anesthesia) serves as the subject matter expert and technical contact for Epic Op Time and Anesthesia application areas. This role designs, builds, configures, tests, supports, and maintains Epic applications while collaborating with perioperative clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders to deliver reliable, efficient, and optimized healthcare technology solutions. Responsibilities Application Implementation and Support Analyze perioperative clinical, business, and technical processes to develop effective system solutions Design, build, configure, test, and maintain Epic Op Time and Anesthesia applications supporting surgical and perioperative workflows Serve as the liaison between business operations, perioperative leadership, anesthesia providers, surgeons, information technology teams, system users, and vendors Manage application implementations, upgrades, optimization efforts, and enhancement projects Provide technical and application support to end users and IT staff while ensuring alignment with defined project objectives and operational priorities Workflow Analysis and Optimization Conduct workflow analysis to identify opportunities for improvement across surgical and perioperative operations Design and implement Epic Op Time and Anesthesia application solutions that support departmental and organizational needs Collaborate with perioperative departments to prioritize development initiatives Recommend workflow improvements that enhance operational efficiency, provider satisfaction, and patient care System Maintenance and Troubleshooting Maintain and support Epic Op Time and Anesthesia applications Perform debugging, testing, installation, and maintenance of application modules Troubleshoot application issues and coordinate timely resolution with operational and technical stakeholders Ensure all system changes follow established change management procedures Documentation and Training Create and maintain documentation for assigned Epic Op Time and Anesthesia applications Develop, coordinate, and execute testing plans for supported applications Partner with IT educators to update training plans, educational materials, and documentation Maintain accurate technical documentation supporting application maintenance, upgrades, and optimization Customer and Vendor Liaison Serve as liaison between Information Technology, Epic, vendors, clinical users, and operational stakeholders Participate in production support activities during implementations and upgrades Provide project management support as required Maintain productive relationships with vendors and business partners to support application performance and issue resolution Marginal or Periodic Functions Assist with other Epic modules as operational needs require Provide backup support during peak workloads or staff shortages Participate in special projects and organizational initiatives Perform related duties as assigned organizational initiatives Attention to Detail Reviews application configurations and documentation for accuracy and completeness Maintains high standards for system quality and reliability Ensures configuration changes follow established standards and best practices Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field Minimum of two years of experience supporting healthcare information technology systems or Epic applications Demonstrated understanding of information technology principles, software development, and systems analysis Experience configuring, supporting, troubleshooting, and maintaining Epic applications Experience supporting Epic Op Time, Epic Anesthesia, or other perioperative Epic applications preferred through professional experience or demonstrated workflow knowledge Experience collaborating with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders to support application optimization Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without current or future employer-sponsored visa sponsorship. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field Minimum of four years of experience supporting healthcare IT or Epic systems Experience supporting Epic Op Time and/or Epic Anesthesia applications Experience supporting perioperative, surgical services, anesthesia, or procedural workflows Experience with Epic implementation, optimization, upgrades, and workflow redesign initiatives Experience collaborating with providers, anesthesia teams, nursing staff, and operational leadership to improve clinical workflows Licenses/Registrations/Certifications Required Epic Certification in a relevant module Preferred Epic Op Time Certification Epic Anesthesia Certification Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification ITIL Certification Salary Range $79,316+ depending on qualifications Working Conditions Standard office environment and equipment Repetitive use of a keyboard and computer May provide on-site support within ambulatory, perioperative, and surgical environments as operational needs require May participate in application upgrades, testing, implementations, go-lives, and after-hours support activities May be exposed to occupational hazards such as communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, hazardous medications, and disoriented or combative patients Required Materials Resume/CV 3 work references with their contact information; at least one reference should be from a supervisor Letter of interest
