Job Description

Overview (Duties):

The Applications Analyst - Senior is responsible for the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of the organization's IT resources. This role solves complex technical problems, analyzes multiple factors, and collaborates with stakeholders to design, configure, and support information systems to ensure smooth operations.
Education Requirements:
Required:
Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in business, clinical field, health informatics, or computer science
CertificationsRequired:
At least one Epic application certification
Preferred:
Certification in relevant Epic module(s) as requiredPass certification exams within 3 attemptsComplete Epic certification within 90 days of trainingMaintain active Epic certification
Manager PreferenceEpic Beacon Certification Experience Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of related experienceAt least 3 years of direct IT application experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Expert understanding of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)Strong application development experienceAdvanced knowledge of technical principles across multiple disciplinesAbility to develop new methods and procedures using technical expertiseUnderstanding of workflows and systems in at least three business or clinical areasExpertise in application build, monitoring, and troubleshooting toolsStrong skills in analysis, design, training, and implementation planningKnowledge of external system integrations and interfacesAbility to coordinate cross-functional design and development effortsCapability to work independently with strategic, long-term focus
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems (training, build, or support)
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Provide solutions to highly complex technical problems requiring creativity, ingenuity, and in-depth analysis.

Lead teams and/or projects, coordinate activities, track progress, and contribute to performance evaluation.

Develop team competencies and create documentation materials.

Ensure completion of impact assessment documentation.

Recommend repeatable, low-impact implementation strategies.

Troubleshoot application issues, submit vendor service requests, and follow complex correction processes.

Act as the primary IT liaison with departments/committees and coordinate prioritized requests.

Research emerging technologies and present findings to management.

Prioritize work within area of specialization and report status regularly.

Advise end-users and oversight groups on feasibility and effort of system changes.

Participate in application special interest groups and workshops.

Mentor or precept team members when appropriate.

Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across the organization.

Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned.
