Job Description

Where You'll Work Founded in 1956, Dignity Health - Memorial Hospital is a 385-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in Bakersfield, California. Serving nearly 100,000 patients annually, the hospital offers a full complement of services including heart care, maternity care, and orthopedics. One California Job Summary and Responsibilities As a Lab Supervisor, you will be a pivotal leader, directly contributing to the development of annual departmental goals, objectives, and budget, while actively facilitating their achievement and ensuring ongoing evaluation of results for continuous improvement.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate unwavering accountability and confidence. You possess exceptional communication skills, excelling in both individual coaching and group presentations. Furthermore, your ability to conduct challenging conversations with professionalism and empathy is crucial, as you are directly responsible for cultivating high performance within your team and ensuring the overall success of the laboratory. Supervises and coaches laboratory personnel to ensure quality assurance and control as well as adherence to relevant policies and ethics. Oversees most laboratory day-to-day operations and exercises authority over personnel decisions. Analyzes and interprets laboratory results in accordance with established laboratory work processes. Administers laboratory inventories such as supplies, equipment and consumables.
Job Requirements Education and Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years of progressive Laboratory Services experience in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science Bachelor's degree or coursework equivalent to meet CLIA requirements American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel (NCA) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), or equivalent required. Additional state licensure as needed is required
