This is a unique opportunity to join a luxury, independent optical environment where craftsmanship, precision, and elevated client experience matter. We're looking for someone who takes pride in quality, organization, and ownership of the lab finishing process while also being comfortable stepping onto the sales floor when needed. About Us Alexander Daas Opticians is a multi-location California optical company known for curating the world's best independent eyewear brands alongside our own proprietary collection. We are not a corporate chain, we focus on craft, service, and product knowledge at the highest level . Role Overview You will be responsible for overseeing all lab operations , ensuring jobs are completed accurately, efficiently, and on time. This role is lab-first , but includes supporting the retail team with adjustments, repairs, and occasional client interaction. Key Responsibilities Lab Operations Run and maintain in-store edging equipment (Santinelli edger, blocker, etc.) Edge, mount, and finish lenses with precision and consistency Inspect incoming jobs for accuracy and quality control Troubleshoot job issues and communicate with partner labs when needed Maintain organization and workflow of all active jobs Track turnaround times and ensure deadlines are met Lab Leadership / Ownership Act as the point person for all lab-related processes Create and maintain efficient job flow systems Identify and resolve bottlenecks or recurring issues Maintain lab equipment and coordinate servicing when needed Floor Support (as needed) Perform frame adjustments and repairs Assist opticians with technical questions Support patient flow during peak times Deliver a high-end client experience when interacting with customers Qualifications 2+ years of optical lab experience (required) Experience with in-store edging (Santinelli preferred) Strong understanding of lens types, measurements, and mounting techniques Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Ability to manage multiple jobs simultaneously without sacrificing quality Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team Strong problem-solving mindset
