Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or equivalent practical experience. 6 years of experience working in a lab environment. 3 years of experience in technical leadership.
Preferred qualifications:
Certification in RHCE or CCNA. 7 years of experience working in an Engineering laboratory environment. Experience working with cross-functional teams on bring up tasks (e.g., hardware assembly, programming with hardware tools, and firmware updates). Experience managing and organizing lab inventory of consumables by lab users. Experience maintaining an organized, clean, and safe operating lab. Ability to multi-task in a changing environment. About the job The ML, Systems, & Cloud AI (MSCA) organization at Google designs, implements, and manages the hardware, software, machine learning, and systems infrastructure for all Google services (Search, YouTube, etc.) and Google Cloud. Our end users are Googlers, Cloud customers and the billions of people who use Google services around the world. Responsibilities Lead a specialized hardware engineering team supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, collaborating with Project Managers to prioritize workloads and maintain high performance in a changing environments. Perform Linux and Windows Operating System (OS) administration, including root-cause analysis for complex network issues, OS debugging, and engineering test setup maintenance. Partner with cross-functional teams to execute hardware assembly, firmware updates, and tool programming during critical project bring-up phases. Manage the end-to-end hardware supply chain, including component allocation, inventory of high-volume consumables, and the maintenance of a safe, organized lab environment. Increase operational efficiency by developing standardized procedures and automation tools for data collection, population, and routine lab administrative tasks.
