JOB DESCRIPTION

The Laboratory Supervisor will oversee the Microbiology Laboratory and is required to supervise all laboratory personnel. Additionally, the Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for the following:

• Maintenance of all Laboratory specifications and customer specifications. Reviewing, updating, or creating new specifications.
• Review of Laboratory associated final reports.
• Ensuring that all test samples are tested in a timely manner and that Millstone Medical Testing
• CT's turn-around-times are maintained.
• Assist with validating new test methods.
• Writing investigations and lab compliants.
• Reviews of new technicians within the probationary period.
• Assist with updating or creating new laboratory specifications.
• Ensuring that all final reports are reviewed in a timely manner and is available to be sent out to the client either the same day or the next morning of the generation date.
• Assisting with CAPA's associated with audit responses.
• The Laboratory Supervisor must ensure that all other Laboratory Technicians are focused and must correct the Technicians if they are not following procedure.
• The Laboratory Supervisor will assist the Laboratory Manager with maintaining the testing log, review of documents, and additional support in other areas as needed.

Qualifications:

BS degree in Microbiology or related field with 3 years experience in a QC microbiology laboratory environment. Must have

ISO 13485

experience;

ISO 17025

preferred. Must have experience with medical device or pharmaceutical microbiology testing Ability to understand/follow all applicable standard operating procedures and cGMPs/cGLPs routinely. Having good Aseptic Technique experience. Proficient with current word processing, spreadsheets, and database software. Demonstrated knowledge of standard laboratory techniques and procedures as evidenced by prior work experience or on the job training. Ability to operate standard and advanced laboratory instrumentation as evidenced by prior work experience or on the job training. Ability to participate in and contribute to a team-oriented work environment by developing positive working relationships within QC and between other departments.
