Where Talent Meets Opportunity Confidential - Director of Laboratory Rocky Mountain Region A community-focused healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Confidential Director of Laboratory Services to lead a high-performing laboratory team serving inpatient, outpatient, and outreach populations. This is a key executive-level leadership role reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer. The Director will shape the future of laboratory services by ensuring regulatory excellence, financial stewardship, operational efficiency, and the continued advancement of quality patient care in a 24/7 rural healthcare environment. Position Highlights ✔️ Lead a comprehensive laboratory program ✔️ Oversight of over 200,000 annual tests supporting inpatient & outpatient care ✔️ Strong reference lab partnership (Quest Diagnostics) ✔️ Collaboration with regional pathology services ✔️ Opportunity to enhance service lines and implement emerging technologies ✔️ Rural leadership impact ~ where your voice and decisions really make a difference What We're Looking For We are seeking a confident, steady leader who combines regulatory rigor with operational creativity.
Someone who can:
Navigate inspections with confidence Develop staffing strategies for rural workforce challenges Strengthen financial performance Evaluate and implement new technologies Foster a culture of accountability and engagement Balance strategic planning with hands-on operational oversight
Ideal Background Required:
Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field ASCP (MLS) or equivalent certification 6+ years of progressive laboratory experience 5+ years of leadership experience Strong regulatory inspection & accreditation experience Budget and financial management expertise Rural or Critical Access Hospital experience
Preferred:
Master's degree (MHA, MBA, or related) CLIA Technical Supervisor or Laboratory Director qualifications Lifestyle & Community This opportunity is located in a welcoming mountain-west community known for wide open spaces, strong community connection, and access to year-round outdoor recreation.
