Assistant Nurse Manager - Cardiac Cath Lab

As Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) in the Cath Lab, you will provide clinical supervision and unit coordination within this unit. With an emphasis on professional development and success, you will encourage caregivers to enhance their skills and patient experience through improvement initiatives and incentives. This position offers a great way to gain extensive leadership experience while continuing to provide the best support and treatment possible. A caregiver in this role works days from 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Facilitate communication and collaboration among unit caregivers and other departments/units. Ensure continuity of patient care information between shifts. Coordinate patient admitting, discharges, transfers and other operational issues. Review major operational patient care issues with Nurse Managers. Provide ongoing clinical evaluations of caregivers, counsel caregivers on performance issues, administer initial corrective actions and monitor attendance issues. Interview, select and orient new caregivers. Supervise and participate in the daily delivery of patient care. Prepare work schedules to ensure adequate coverage of all shifts. Participate in and support quality improvement projects, outcomes, studies and research initiatives. Assist in orienting new personnel, continuing education and in-service educational programs. Other duties as assigned. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) Two years of recent clinical nursing experience Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Prior charge nurse or leadership experience Cath Lab experience Experience with high-level procedures Charge nurse experience

Physical Requirements:

The position requires a considerate amount of physical work not to exceed 50 pounds. Any workload exceeding 50 pounds will require assistance. The individual will be required to pull up or re-position patients in bed, lift supplies, place equipment or supports, push beds throughout the hospital and perform external cardiac compressions. The individual must be able to bend over to perform certain duties such as check chest tube drainage, check urine output, etc. The individual must be able to quickly maneuver throughout halls, stairways and patient rooms in response to hospital emergencies. Interpretation of environmental input requires visual and auditory skills. In the event there is a need to evacuate the building, heavy lifting will be required to carry patients to safety.

Special Demands:

Needs minimal sustained direction in assessing needs, directing staff, and carrying out departmental and professional responsibilities; self-starting and self-motivating; working hours may exceed eight (8) hours per day and is based on what is needed to accomplish work at hand.
