POSITION SUMMARY
The Clinical Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations of designated departments. Assists the Manager in financial, capital and human resources to ensure services meet established quality and productivity standards. Ensures the provision of high-quality services in accordance with Medical Center and regulatory requirements. The position is responsible for all aspects of personnel management and supervision. Perform laboratory bench assignments as needed. QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Associate's degree in medical laboratory technology, medical laboratory science, or clinical laboratory science 4 years' Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA) laboratory training or experience 1 year experience with progressive responsibilities and demonstrated leadership abilities (such as technical lead, coordinator or key operator, leader of special project or committee, primary clinical educator, etc.) in Laboratory Services or a clinical/healthcare setting OR Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical, or medical laboratory science, or medical technology 2 years' CLIA laboratory training or experience 1 year experience with progressive responsibilities and demonstrated leadership abilities (such as technical lead, coordinator or key operator, leader of special project or committee, primary clinical educator, etc.) in Laboratory Services or a clinical/healthcare setting.Licensure/ Certification:
If highest level of education is associate's degree: American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technologist (AMT) certification as aMedical Laboratory Technician Other Skills/ Knowledge:
Interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively and communicate with patients and other health care professionals. High level of professionalism and skillful performance in stressful situations, ability to develop and sustain strong staff and interdepartmental relationships Strong analytical and organizational skills necessary to organize and direct the work of others and effectively manage multiple tasks and initiatives Moderate proficiency with Microsoft applications and solid computer skills.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
