Job Description:
Hours will vary 7:30am-5:00pm M-F 7:30am-12:00pm Saturdays Participates in performance improvement activities, resolves customer service issues, evaluates new equipment and procedures, and monitors staff performance. Assists department leadership with staffing, interviewing, orientation, training, coaching, mentoring, and competency assessment. Coordinates and facilitates the clinical experience of students in affiliated education programs. Participates in various committees or teams and assists with special projects as assigned. Ensures department workspaces are maintained in a neat, organized, and properly supplied manner, and oversees post-analytical activities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to ensure departmental compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements [Required] Exhibits technical skills and aptitudes related to specific laboratory specimen collections as performed in department or work area assigned. [Required] Displays the ability to comprehend, measure, reason, match, problem solve, and exercise judgment under minimal supervision. [Required] Exhibits ability to make appropriate decisions in stressful situations and handle multiple priorities and projects. [Required] Able to effectively communicate verbally and in written form in English with patients, staff, and customers of varied backgrounds in a respectful, effective, and professional manner. [Required]
Education:
Associate [Preferred] High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
Work Experience:
1+ years of leadership/management experience 2+ years of related laboratory experience [Required] 3+ years of technical experience
Additional Information:
Driver's license required for AHL only.
Licenses and Certifications:
Basic Life Support•CPR Cert (BLS) [Preferred] Driver's License (DL) [Preferred]
