Job Description

Concordia University Chicago (CUC) invites applications for the position of Laboratory Manager/Technician for Undergraduate Microbiology, Biology and Chemistry courses in the Department of Natural Sciences in the College of Health, Science and Technology. The Laboratory Technician will be working with the undergraduate faculty. The responsibilities below refer to laboratories that are part of undergraduate courses.
Responsibilities/Duties:
Set-up and break-down of laboratory activities for undergraduate chemistry, biology and microbiology courses. Grading assignments as needed. Assistance with in-lab instruction as needed. Maintenance of chemistry and biology stockrooms and autoclaving microbiology lab waste. Laboratory clean-up, which includes washing glassware, maintaining laboratory safety standards and organizing laboratories. Working with and managing undergraduate laboratory assistants. Candidates must be committed to the mission and identity of Concordia University Chicago. Additionally, they must profess values congruent with the teachings of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS).
Skill Sets:
Excellent communication skills (both interpersonal and written)
Minimum Experience Required:
Earned Bachelor's degree and enrollment in one of Concordia's graduate programs .
