Lab Supervisor•Histology Carle Health $33.92•$58.34 / hr United States, Illinois, Urbana May 19, 2026
Overview Sign on Bonus Available!! $10,000 greater than 1yr of experience $2,500 Relocation Bonus Available (greater than 50 miles) (external candidate only) The Histology Laboratory Supervisor assists the Lab Manager by providing oversight of day to day operations in clinical laboratory.
Responsible for the oversight of day-to-day operations in the clinical laboratory.
Leads initiatives at the direction/discretion of the Lab Manager.
Overall responsibility for regulatory preparedness in area of oversight (working with lab leadership and staff).Ongoing monitoring of quality and performance metrics.
Complete performance evaluations and ongoing supervision of personnel in area of oversight.
Deliver disciplinary action and developmental action plans as warranted.
Assists with operating and capital budget preparation and monthly expense variance reporting.
Ensures appropriate staffing and reassign staff as dictated by workload. Monitors turn-around-time reports and implements corrective action to ensure the established time frames are consistently met. Helps assess and recommend new instrumentation. Ensures implementation studies, LIS validation and staff training take place when new instrumentation and tests are implemented. Performs performance evaluations for staff. Evaluates CAP checklists and ensures compliance with all regulations.
