This position is not eligible for overtime (exempt); however, the city has a compensatory time leave program for employees that grants leave time for hours worked in excess of forty hours. The purpose of this classification is to manage the daily operations and maintenance of the LFUCG's wastewater laboratory and its staff, ensuring compliance with local, state and federal regulations.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in a field related to the job Four (4) years of related experience Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience Additional years of related experience may substitute for years of educationESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Manages daily operations of laboratory staff Determines laboratory and testing procedures; trains and supervises laboratory technicians Evaluates performance, resolves employee relations issues, conducts interviews, creates work schedules, and maintains personnel records Develops and maintains laboratory budget documents, orders supplies, and specifies equipment Communicates lab results; prepares and maintains necessary records and reports Performs related work as assignedSPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
