Quality Lab Supervisor DSJ Global - 4.0 Louisville, KY Job Details $95,000 - $115,000 a year 16 hours ago Qualifications Team leadership Bachelor's degree Compliance documentation Manufacturing company experience Customer complaint resolution Full Job Description A leading chemicals manufacturing company in the greater Louisville, KY area is seeking a Quality Laboratory Supervisor to oversee daily laboratory operations and lead a team of technicians within a fast-paced chemical production environment. This individual will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely testing, maintaining compliance with quality standards, and driving continuous improvement across lab processes. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage day-to-day operations of the quality control laboratory, ensuring efficient workflow and timely release of results Supervise, coach, and develop laboratory personnel across multiple shifts, including scheduling, training, and performance management Maintain and improve laboratory procedures, analytical methods, and testing protocols to ensure consistency and reliability of results Ensure compliance with internal quality systems and external regulatory standards (e.g., ISO, GMP, or customer specifications) Oversee laboratory equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance Partner cross-functionally with production, engineering, and R D teams to support process improvement and resolve quality issues Lead investigations into non-conformances, out-of-spec results, and customer complaints; drive root cause analysis and corrective actions Monitor lab KPIs, throughput, and quality metrics, driving continuous improvement initiatives within the lab Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific discipline required 5+ years of experience in a quality control or analytical laboratory within a manufacturing environment (chemicals preferred) Demonstrated experience leading or supervising laboratory teams (strong preference for direct people management) Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation (e.g., GC, spectroscopy, titrations, viscosity testing) Strong knowledge of quality systems, documentation, and audit readiness practices Proven ability to drive continuous improvement and maintain high standards across teams Preferred Skills Experience implementing or improving SOPs, training programs, or lab workflows Familiarity with LIMS, SAP, or other quality/data systems Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving capabilities Proven ability to balance production demands with laboratory integrity
