Full Job Description What We're Looking For:

Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage daily laboratory operations and supervise staff Minimum of 1 to 3 years of supervisory experience in a reference laboratory setting Current Clinical Laboratory Scientist - Generalist license issued by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners Demonstrated ability to exercise considerable judgment in applying and implementing laboratory procedures and practices Preferred experience across all areas of the laboratory Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills

What You Will Do:

Responsible for the day-to-day supervision and operations of an assigned area of the Laboratory, including staff management, operational decision-making, and departmental performance aligned with strategic goals. Supervise reference lab staff, ensuring daily priorities and goals are achieved and that specimen handling meets turnaround times Assist with developing departmental goals and recommending service improvements to reduce operating costs Provide leadership and coordinate daily departmental productivity and communication efforts Monitor performance standards and quality control metrics to ensure compliance and accuracy in testing Oversee technical procedures and troubleshooting, maintaining advanced knowledge of laboratory instrumentation and methodologies Ensure effective communication with staff, physicians, and nursing personnel regarding laboratory policies and test interpretations Maintain required documentation and assist with preventative maintenance programs to ensure operational readiness Participate in hiring, training, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions as needed Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental success
