We deliver first-class facility and operational support, skilled laboratory personnel, and an expansive events program designed to add value to the community and promote connectivity ‒ as well as the other critical services and support that early-stage companies need to begin start-up operations. About the Blavatnik Harvard Life Lab Longwood The Blavatnik Harvard Life Lab Longwood is a collaborative workspace for early-stage, high-potential start-ups founded by Harvard students, alumni, postdoctoral scholars and faculty. The 10,000-square-foot lab is located on the HMS campus, in the heart of the Longwood Medical Area. Building on the success of the pioneering Pagliuca Harvard Life Lab in Allston, this new lab offers the Longwood community a closer, more convenient location under the same infrastructure and governance. Part of Harvard Medical School's Therapeutic Initiative, it provides users with diverse resources, including access to HMS Core Facilities, industry-specific programming, and expert advisors. LabCentral is seeking a Lab Operations Lead for the Blavatnik Harvard Life Lab. This role will support our dynamic wet lab facility where cutting edge biotechnologies are developed. You'll be a strong fit for this role if you have an educational background or training in Biology, Biotechnology, or Bioengineering and hands-on experience in a laboratory setting. What will I do?
Responsibilities:
Display a high-level of customer service to ensure the resident scientists have a positive and productive experience while at LabCentral Implement and execute preventative maintenance programs for shared lab equipment Advise and instruct resident scientists on equipment usage and facilitate training sessions with vendors Troubleshoot technical issues in the lab in collaboration with the lab team, resident scientists, and vendors Develop standard operating procedures for shared equipment and laboratory policies Oversee monitoring systems and respond to lab-related issues outside of normal business hours as part of the on-call rotation Maintain positive working relationships with vendors and partners Prepare laboratory spaces for new companies and assist with company onboarding Champion LabCentral's safety culture and ensure regulatory compliance by upholding biosafety and chemical hygiene programs in day-to-day operations Resolve unique issues revolving around a new site and shared work environment while contributing to the development of a collaborative and creative atmosphere Think critically to resolve unique issues revolving around a shared work environment and help maintainan environment of collaboration and creativity in partnership with the Senior Manager Support the Senior Manager in collaboration with the Harvard leadership to share best practices for facility management, programming opportunities, and marketing and engagement What do I bring?
Desired qualifications:
A degree in a scientific field and 2+ years of experience in a relevant work environment or 5+ years overall lab experience in a relevant work environment (e.biomanufacturing, process development or R D lab, working with mammalian cell culture, etc.) Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with across LabCentral, Harvard and residents, navigating the expectations and interests of all parties Familiarity with Microsoft Office software and ability to manage a database of information Desired competencies and behaviors: Personable and articulate with strong written and verbal communication skills Self-starter with excellent work ethic and optimistic attitude Detail oriented with astute attention to quality control and getting things right Desire to be part of a team-focused environment and derive pleasure and satisfaction in helping others Strong time management, organization, multi-tasking, and decision-making skills Ability to apply critical thinking to technical problems as well as customer service situations to turn issues and feedback into action and resolution Work environment: Fully onsite at our location in the Longwood Medical Area during regular business hours Ability to sit and stand for long periods, ability to move around an office and lab environment, and ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds What do we offer?

Compensation Our compensation philosophy is intentional and researched to align with average market salaries; comprehensive, generous benefits to support overall well-being; and parity with our existing and future team members. Below details the value of what our compensation package may look like, but specific details pertaining to an individual will vary.
Salary range:
$57-74k along with the potential to earn a bonus of 8% based on company performance. Approximate monetary value of benefits (based off an individual - dependents increase value): $22,000.
