Laboratory Supervisor

Position Summary The Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations within an assigned laboratory section. This includes supervising staff, ensuring accurate and timely test performance, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting a safe and efficient work environment. The supervisor works closely with laboratory leadership to ensure high standards of quality, service, and team performance. Key Responsibilities Provide direct supervision, coaching, scheduling, and performance evaluation for laboratory staff. Oversee daily workflow to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant testing. Maintain proficiency in laboratory techniques and provide technical support to staff. Ensure compliance with CAP, CLIA, OSHA, and MaineHealth/NorDx policies and procedures. Monitor quality control, instrument maintenance, and documentation. Support training, onboarding, and competency assessments for team members. Collaborate with leadership to improve processes, manage resources, and support operational goals. Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field. ASCP certification (MLS or specialty equivalent). Minimum 3 years of clinical laboratory experience.
