Job Duties and Responsibilities:
We are seeking a part-time (5-10 hours/week) Research Professional for the Zilverstand lab in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Anna Zilverstand, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in Psychiatry and the lab Principal Investigator. The lab is part of the University of Minnesota Medical Discovery Team on Addiction, which offers a multidisciplinary research environment that includes faculty from Psychiatry, Psychology, Radiology, Neuroscience and Pharmacology. The study coordinator will receive extensive training in the clinical interviewing, neurocognitive tasks, physiological recordings, genetic testing, hormonal assessments and brain imaging to investigate human drug addiction (alcohol, cannabis and opioid use disorder). All data for the ongoing study will be collected at the University of Minnesota; neuroimaging will take place at CMRR (https://www.cmrr.umn.edu/). We are committed to developing the careers of all of our team members. There will be frequent opportunities for interaction with graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty who work in both clinical and basic research.   • Oversight managerial tasks; e.g., purchasing & shipping
  • Oversight for IRB applications and documentation
  • Co-development of new study procedures (with Dr. Zilverstand)
  • Training of new staff (with Dr.
Zilverstand) Qualifications All required qualifications must be included in the application materials
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors (BA/BS) in a health-related field from an accredited college or university with four years of related experience
  • Professional experience working with individuals with mental health disorders
  • Ability to work on-site; flexible schedule
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional experience working with individuals with substance use disorder
  • Professional experience with collecting research data from human participants
  • Familiarity with navigating sensitive or triggering conversations in a professional setting
  • Familiarity with clinical interviewing
  • Familiarity with neuroimaging
Demonstrated Soft Skills Necessary:
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to learn quickly
  • Interpersonal communication skills
  • Emotional intelligence; Ability to navigate potentially sensitive and triggering conversations
  • Adaptability to an inconsistent schedule.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritize work demands and manage time appropriately
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Diligence with protocol adherence
  • High affinity with working with technology

  • Professionalism About the Department This position is located in the Zilverstand lab in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.
Pay and Benefits Pay Range:
$25.00 - $31.00; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
