The MT Supervisor serves as the General Supervisor as defined by CLIA-88 Federal Regulations.MT Supervisor Responsibilities:
Supervision - specimen acquisition, transport, computer staff, tech areas. Monitor staffing (review schedules to detect staffing problems). Monitor triage of personnel on breaks and meal periods. Maintain effective communication within and between shifts. Monitor the quality of service on evening and night shifts. Aid in the evaluation of personnel in concert with the Section Managers and Medical Staff. Aid Education Coordinator with inservicing of personnel on evening shift. Makes sure the hospital resources are used efficiently and effectively. May supplement the technical staff at the bench when appropriate. Notify laboratory administrator, section managers, and pathologists of unusual problems. Ensure that laboratory and hospital personnel policies are enforced. Assist in the coordination of disaster situations Aid in orientation of staff. Aid in the evaluation of personnel for clinical ladder promotions. Assist with troubleshooting problems in the tech departments. Monitor the safety of the working environment and refers suggestions and observations to the safety committee. Help manage complaints from the nursing staff and medical staff about pathology services, and passes this information on to the laboratory administrator and management staff. May be responsible for selected computer operation functions, as necessary. Minimum Requirements BS degree or higher in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or a biological, chemical, or physical science from an accredited institution. BS degree with a combination of 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours) in biology and chemistry, obtained within or in addition to the degree is also acceptable. 4 years of experience in a clinical laboratory as a Medical Laboratory Scientist. Certification as MLS, BB, C, H or MB by ASCP or other nationally recognized certifying agency. Other Information 40 hours per week Wednesday - Tuesday (9:30 pm - 7:30 am) Required to work a rotational schedule of 7 days on / 7 days off Great Benefits Sign-On Bonus / Relocation Assistance availabilities #LI-SB1 ECU
