Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE
The Laboratory Supervisor position is responsible for the general oversight of the daily operations in the entire clinical laboratory. The position oversees the day-to-day operations of the Laboratory department, reference laboratory testing and all departments of the Laboratory in coordination with the Medical Director, Laboratory Director and department leads. Moreover, the position oversees and evaluates the performance of all unit personnel and is responsible for the orientation of newly assigned staff, assigns workload and plot schedule for every shift. The position also coordinates with the Laboratory Director to ensure the functionality and accurate operation of all machines; also coordinates with the engineering or facilities team for any repairs as necessary.

Experience:
Minimum three (3) years working experience as a
Medical Laboratory Scientist Education:
Bachelor's Degree in
Medical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology Mandatory Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications:
Advanced knowledge of provider schedule management and utilization Knowledge of the front-end revenue cycle process, including patient registration, government and commercial insurance processes. Excellent interpersonal communication skills are required. Computer proficiency in Microsoft and laboratory information systems is required. Knowledge of Meditech preferred. Knowledge of and compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) American Society for Clinical Pathology(ASCP) Certified Medical Laboratory Scientist Preferred qualifications One (1) year supervisory experience. Two (2) years Laboratory Information System (LIS) experience.
